closed to Marisa;

How she got Marisa here was absolutely a secret. Motoko wasn't about to spill. But the witch was in Motoko's apartment, a place that was entirely unfamiliar to the girl. With the wall holograms making it seem like a beach but a large bed signifying that it was her bedroom probably sent mixed signals. Especially to someone used to just 50s or even 90s technology. The section 9 agent didn't hold back in sharing what she had. Nor did she make her intentions unclear.

"Look at it like this. You work for me and you can live here with me. Which means you can have me."

Which was a bonus in some people's books. Marisa's....maybe not so much. But she was here.

"Section Nine could use any help it gets and I'm not going to turn down people I know are capable. So what is it going to be?"

She is jumping straight to the point. But depending on her answer, Marisa can have a certain cyborg in bed before midnight even rolls around. And have access to any stimulants and drugs she could never have imagined. Someone here didn't follow the law all that well.

Marisa was just kind of... staring at everything. She was very much overwhelmed by the tech levels, because she could tell it was tech even if it didn't make much sense to her yet. She needed something to ground herself, so she summoned a ball of flame into her hand and looked down into it as if to confirm for herself that she still had her magic with all the science around.

She took a few deep breaths as she contemplated what she wanted to do. And really, it came down to one thing for her.

"I don't gotta get that thing in my brain, do I? That computer chip thing..." She looked up from the fire to Motoko. "Cause I think it might fuck up my magic."

And the magic was important to Marisa.

"Science and Magic don't mix, ze." At least that's how it'd always been as far as Marisa knew. And for the moment, she didn't want to take the change that putting the chip thing in her head would mess her magic up.

But she was okay with adapting to communication stuffs that weren't in her brain. So, the witch let the magic go, the fire dissipating.

"I can handle the outside tech stuff. Just need to learn it. But... Is the fact that I really don't want to have to kill people gonna be an issue?" Just because Marisa was capable of it and has killed people, didn't mean she was okay with it.

Experimentation would eventually come. It was an inevitability with Marisa. She would some day dabble in mixing the two, just because she needed to know what would happen. But that day wasn't yet and, really, her magic was the only thing from home she had that made her feel okay.

The witch sat down when beckoned, curling her legs up underneath her. "Yeah... I'm okay with that. I just don't wanna be a murderer. Or helping people be murderers."
